The Edmonton Oilers are somewhat pleased with their pre-season perormance. We didn't blow away the competition but we held our own. We picked up 5wins, 2 ties and 2 losses. Our leading scorer was Mr Smyth followed by stalwarts hemsky and Gagner. Paajarvi, Eberle and Hall combined for a total of 17pts in the 9 games, decent but we want more. Five members of the D have combined for a total of 13 pts which needs to improve dramatically but since we only allowed 19 goals in 9 games I can handle the offensive drop from the D, marginally.
All in all we in EDM are looking forward to an exciting season that may still land us in the middle of the pack but that isn't bad for a team that has been rebuilding for a season or two. And with a $48M cap hit, the price is right.
