Suggestions For Season 2

as we enter the PO's for season 1, we start to look toward season 2.

if anyone has any ideas/suggestions that they think should be implemented into the league moving forward, please leave them here

Changes:
AHL section - will include standings + leaderboards for all AHL teams. (possibility to set AHL lines as well)
Injury Forum - list any long term injuries that teams might have

Suggestions to be voted on:

add team news

useful for injuries, etc.

i like the idea of being able to set our AHL lines.

i think if its possible, let us know if players want to be traded, make it a bit more realistic

i like AHL lines, and stats/standings

also, how does the PO standings/outcomes work? what i mean is how will they be posted

this can be done easier by adding an "Injury" forum

this can be done if you have EHM installed on your computer. there is a save function which lets you export lines and email them to me. manually inputting lines would be a bit too much time for me, but if you are willing to send me lines (which works for NHL too), ill be more than happy to do that

this i can do if i see something come up on the news feed in sim. otherwise, id have to check each player manually periodically, which isnt realistic to do

standings will be posted the same way as brackets, with a screenshot of the brackets from the sim

they don't do that in the NHL, but how about adding an Underager, meaning each team can have 1 junior-aged player to play in the AHL per season. Most leagues do that, but it's ok if you don't add it.

Also adding the Team Training would be nice. NHL and AHL.

Articles/press conferences are nice as well.

I think you can do it without an underager. RNH is on the Oilers' farm team.

Yeah I like the "let us know if players want to be traded" idea. If that could be done, it would be awesome.

how would you feel if your yet-to-be-signed Alexander Ovechkin told you:
hey trade me or i won't resign with you.

you'd be forced to lose Ovechkin because of whoever just decided that he didnt want you to have ovechkin.

they're not saying they're gonna "invent" that, or that'll be horrible. they're saying I think zero is gonna check the news every once in a while and if he sees anything uhh he'll uhh let us know somehow.

yea that too in my old league when we re-signed RFA's it went like this:

Drew Doughty 35M/7 years, NTC (qualify if he rejects)

as i said, only if something pops up in the news

and yes, things do pop up in news about whether a player is unhappy with ice time/frustrated with team strategies, etc.

other than that, you wont get any updates in that regard, as im not running through every player on every roster. that would take hours upon hours upon hours to do

another example of speaking before you think.

players in the sim do reject offers because they are not interested in resigning. if there was a reasonable way to check out who wanted to resign or not...good idea? i think so. unfortunately, there is no reasonable way

not 100% sure how the underagers really work. i think you would need to sign the player to a 2 way contract, otherwise, the player would be stuck in the AHL all year. or, once you call him up, hed be locked out of the AHL, and it would require me to manually send him down via the player file

we can do that, but it would be up to the GM to keep track of who is considered an RFA and everything like that.

overall, most players end up getting qualified when contracts are offered since theyre qualifying offers are normally low enough in comparison to contract offers

in my other league, the season an player is about to be an RFA, instead of stats theres letters like c-,a-,c-
